Why is the module amedyn2 not included in kernel ?
Because its inclusion has not been asked for.
Why its inclusion has not been asked for ?
That's more complex. I am not programmer. I have been programming many years at personal level, but my knowledge is basic and almost completely lost when dealing with lower level stuff like kernel threads.
After the going of J. Comas the big change to the pair amedyn2/usbatm was possible because the controller is quite simple and very similar to the speedtch one (which is already included in the kernel).
The module amedyn2 is the official candidate for inclusion in the kernel. But it should not only working on developer's computers, it must be in fact very well designed/coded/whatsoever.
That last step hasn't yet been reached. This project has always been opened to the contributions of other people with the limits of my own understanding to apply them.
Therefore, I request the collaboration of those people who can review the amedyn2 module code so that it can finally be sent to kernel before century XXII.
Please use the "general" mailing list to help on it:
